SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Millions of people on social media are talking about an alleged groping incident that happened at a popular Savannah restaurant.
It was all captured on video, but was it an honest mistake or a crime?
The video shows a 21-year-old waitress places an order for a customer at Vinnie Van GoGo's. That's when a man walks behind the woman and touches her on her bottom.
He attempted to keep on walking, but she didn't let him get away.
She is shown yanking him by the shirt and pushing him into a chair. The waitress then gives him a piece of her mind before calling the police.
Police say 31-year-old Ryan Cherwinski of Palm Bay, Florida, is the man in the video.
He was arrested at the restaurant that same night -- and charged with sexual battery.
News 3 showed a few people the viral video.
"He got what he deserved," said one woman.
"It's repulsive, it's degrading and disrespectful," another said.
According to the incident report, the suspect, Ryan Cherwinski, told police it was just an accident.
He says he grabbed the waitress trying to inform her to move because she was in the way.
The video has been seen on screens around the world on Reddit, YouTube and news sites overseas.
