ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WTHR) —Parents in Massachusetts put out a warning to other parents after they realized their 2-year-old son could climb their pool's safety ladder.
The ladder was designed to keep the 2-year-old boy from getting into the pool, but it didn't work, WXPI reported.
"If I turned my back for a minute, he would have been right in," Tonya, the toddler's mother said.
In her post, the toddler's dad wrote: "I stress you to watch your kids around pools. I will be buying a new type of ladder!"
Even though the ladder was folded up, their 2-year-old son, Cody, was able to climb it anyway.
"We grabbed him right there. He was no more than four feet away from us at that time. So I said to my wife, Tonya, we need to do this again and video it," Keith said. "People need to be aware of this."
The video clip has been viewed almost 500,000 times.
The couple said they will returning the ladder in hopes that the company will make design changes, WPIX reported.
